Elon Musk Explains Why He U-Turned On Trump Epstein Allegations

Elon Musk has now explained why he made a major U-turn on his claims that Donald Trump was on the Epstein files, after Trump threatened him with a ‘very serious consequence’.

Musk and Trump are currently having a very public break up after the tech billionaire left his post in politics.

Musk publicly criticized Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ and the president shared his disappointment at Musk’s response.

Things took a more bizarre turn when Musk claimed that the reason the Epstein files were not shared was because Trump was on them.

Taking to X, Musk wrote: “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,”, “That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”

Adding in a follow up tweet: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

Epstein allegedly committed suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial for s*x trafficking charges.

When asked by NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump was asked if he thought his relationship with Musk was over, he replied: “I would assume so, yeah.”

“I’m too busy doing other things,” Trump added. “You know, I won an election in a landslide. I gave him [Musk] a lot of breaks, long before this happened, I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him.”

Trump then shared with NBC that there would be ‘serious consequences’ if Musk helps fund Democratic campaigns in the future.

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump said.

The public battle between Musk and Trump has been labelled an ‘unfortunate episode’ by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. She told CNN: “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted. The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”

When asked on Fox News about the issues between the two billionaires, she added:  “Just days ago, Elon thanked the president for his incredible leadership to cut waste and fraud in our government, which this one big beautiful bill does.”

She continued: “The only difference between Friday and today is Elon went back to his companies and as a businessman, he has a right to speak for his companies, but as president, President Trump has a responsibility to fight for this country.”

In an even more interesting turn of events, Musk deleted his tweets and posted a follow up on June 11.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.” he wrote.

One user responded to Musk: “Are you back to defending someone who you said is on the Epstein files?”

Another wrote: “You said that Trump was in the Epstein files— don’t try to backtrack now. Did someone threaten you?”

A third penned: “So which one is it, is he in the Epstein files or did you just lie about it?”

Another wrote: “There’s a difference between ‘too far’ and whether or not they are accurate. You specifically said the Epstein Files aren’t out because he’s on them. Is that True or False?”
